Senator Doug Mastriano, a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate representing the 33rd district, shared several posts on his social media account highlighting community events and historical milestones.
On July 23, 2025, Mastriano posted about attending a local event: “It was a fantastic night to spend time at the Shippensburg Fair. I hope you and your family can visit! It runs until July 26th.”
The following day, he commemorated an important figure in American aviation history with the post: “July 24th – Birthday – American pilot Amelia Earhart (1898-1937) was born in Kansas. She was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic and to fly solo from Hawaii to California. She perished during a flight from New Guinea to Howland Island over the Pacific Ocean on July 3,” This message highlights Earhart’s pioneering achievements as well as her disappearance during an attempt to circumnavigate the globe.
Later that same day, Mastriano shared a personal memory: “Throwback Thursday – Doug and Rebbie at Camp Hof, West Germany near the Iron Curtain #ThrowbackThursday”
Amelia Earhart is widely recognized for her contributions to aviation and for being one of the most prominent female pilots in history. Her disappearance in 1937 remains one of aviation’s enduring mysteries.
Senator Doug Mastriano has previously served as a colonel in the U.S. Army before entering public office.
