To help residents complete Property Tax/Rent Rebate applications, Rep. Chad Reichard (R-Franklin) is expanding appointment opportunities at his district office in Waynesboro. Starting January 26, appointments can be scheduled for any Monday, except holidays. Each session lasts about 30 minutes and can be arranged by calling 717-749-7384.

“My staff and I assist countless residents with completing rebate applications each year and this new initiative will help expedite the process for residents through a more streamlined process,” Reichard said. “If an appointment on a Monday doesn’t work for residents, we are happy to meet anytime during normal business hours throughout the week.”

Residents planning to apply should bring their 2025 income documents, a completed rent certificate or paid property tax receipts, and government identification.

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate program now has higher income limits set at $48,110. The maximum rebate available is $1,000 for both homeowners and renters. When calculating eligibility, applicants should exclude half of their Social Security income. The program is open to those aged 65 or older, widows and widowers aged 50 or older, and people with disabilities who are at least 18 years old.

“I want to remind residents that they should never pay someone to complete the applications. My office can do it at no charge,” Reichard said.
