Rep. Chad Reichard announced on March 9 that he will host a workshop for area business owners about Pennsylvania’s Neighborhood Assistance Program, a tax credit initiative designed to benefit the community.
The event is scheduled for Friday, March 20, from 1-3 p.m. at the Greater Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce, located at 118 Walnut St., #111, Waynesboro. Madra Clay, central regional director with the Department of Economic and Community Development, will lead the discussion.
The workshop aims to inform attendees about how businesses can receive up to a 65% tax credit by contributing to charitable nonprofit organizations. The program encourages partnerships between businesses and nonprofits to support projects in distressed areas or those focused on neighborhood conservation.
“Pennsylvania’s Neighborhood Assistance Program is a great opportunity for businesses to support projects that strengthen our communities while also receiving a meaningful tax credit,” Reichard said. “This workshop will help local business owners better understand how the program works and how they can partner with nonprofits to invest in initiatives that make a real difference in our neighborhoods.”
Eligible projects must serve distressed areas or support neighborhood conservation and may include affordable housing programs, community services, crime prevention, education, job training or neighborhood assistance. Those interested in attending can register by calling Reichard’s office at 717-749-7384 or emailing jpeters@pahousegop.com.
