Rep. Scott Perry, serving Pennsylvania’s 10th district in the U.S. Congress since 2013, expressed his views on ongoing national and international issues through social media posts shared on April 1, 2025. In his tweets, Perry touched on the Senate’s budget decisions, concerns about Iran’s uranium needs, and funding for public broadcasting services.

On April 1, 2025, Rep. Scott Perry voiced his dissatisfaction with the Senate’s efforts to address the national debt. According to Perry, characterized as a former chair of the House Freedom Caucus, the reported decision to cut the budget by only $3 billion is insufficient in light of the $36 trillion debt. He urged, “I don’t like what I’m hearing…Let’s set a real target. Who are we kidding here?”

In another tweet on April 1, 2025, Rep. Perry queried the necessity of substantial amounts of uranium for Iran’s civilian program during a House Foreign Affairs hearing. Expressing skepticism about engaging with Iranian leadership, he asked, “Why does Iran need so much Uranium for its civilian program?..How many times do we have to learn the hard way?”

Further, on April 1, 2025, Perry criticized public broadcasting outlets NPR and PBS, labeling them as aligned with radical left ideologies. He called for the passage of his bill to cease taxpayer funding for these organizations which, according to him, disseminate “propaganda and divisive disinformation.” His message read, “NPR and PBS, radical Left-allied outlets, should NOT get Taxpayer money…Pass my bill to defund NPR and PBS — NOW.”
