Senator Doug Mastriano, representing the 33rd District of Pennsylvania and chairing the Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, is set to lead a commemorative event for Vietnam War Veterans Day. The event will take place on Tuesday, March 25, at 11:30 a.m. in the Pennsylvania State Capitol Media Center located in Harrisburg.

Mastriano played a significant role in establishing this recognition through legislative efforts. He sponsored Senate Bill 1160, which has been enacted as Act 124 of 2024. This legislation officially designates March 29 as Vietnam War Veterans Day within Pennsylvania.

“As we continue to mark the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, I am pleased that we have added March 29 into Pennsylvania law and can proudly say to our Vietnam veterans: thank you and welcome home,” stated Mastriano.

The event will feature First Lt. Clebe McClary, United States Marine Corps Retired, as the keynote speaker.

Speakers at the event will include notable figures who have yet to be disclosed.
