LITTLESTOWN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: Important Update For Parents on Marking Period Grades

Books

Littlestown Senior High School issued the following announcement on Apr. 6.

Here are the updates regarding marking periods and the assignment of final grades.

Grade 12 only - The 3rd marking period will end on April 17th. Assignments given on or prior to Friday, March 13th, will be included. Teachers will continue to provide opportunities for students to submit missing assignments, resubmit assignments, or complete alternate assignments from Quarters 1, 2, and 3.

There are a number of senior awards that depend on a 3rd quarter grade; for example, Valedictorian, Salutatorian, Top 10% Honors, National Honors Society recognitions. There are also students who would benefit from knowing a 3rd quarter grade for late college acceptance, job opportunities, or enrollment into military or other service opportunities. Due to these reasons, the 3rd marking period for seniors needs a concrete end date.

Grades 6-12 - Teachers will continue to provide opportunities for students to submit missing assignments, resubmit assignments, or complete alternate assignments from Quarters 1, 2, and 3. Please contact individual teachers if you have concerns about your student’s grade in a certain class.

When a final decision has been made on a return to school or, as is more likely, the last school day of 2019-2020 without a return to school, we will let you know when final grades for Quarters 1, 2, and 3 are due. There will be no 4th quarter grade. Final grades will reflect an average of Quarters 1, 2, and 3.
