Senator Doug Mastriano announced the allocation of $2 million in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant funding to two projects in Franklin County. The funds are aimed at supporting regional development and economic growth.

Learn and Work LLC has received a $1 million grant for its Live and Work at Central project in Chambersburg. This initiative will redevelop the former Central High School into residential units and office spaces. Senator Mastriano stated, "The buildings in which students once learned math, literature, science and history will once again contribute to the future of this community with the completion of the Live and Work at Central redevelopment project."

Additionally, Waynesboro Borough was awarded $1 million to assist with building a new emergency services complex. Mastriano remarked, "This new facility will help meet the emergency service needs of the borough and the surrounding communities." He further emphasized that co-locating police, EMS, and fire services would support public health, safety services, and revitalization efforts.

The RACP is managed by Pennsylvania’s Office of the Budget. It focuses on acquiring and constructing projects that enhance regional economic activities. These projects must have a broad impact and boost or sustain employment levels, tax revenues, or other economic measures.

Senator Doug Mastriano represents Adams and Franklin counties as part of Pennsylvania's 33rd Senatorial District. He chairs the Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee. A combat veteran with service in Iraq during Operation Desert Storm and multiple deployments to Afghanistan, he remains active in state-related issues through his website www.senatormastriano.com or on Facebook.
