Rep. Dan Moul of Adams County has announced that eight municipalities or local municipal authorities in his district will receive a total of $2.2 million in state gaming revenue through the Local Share Account (LSA) program. This funding is distributed annually by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent agency under the Department of Community and Economic Development.
The approved LSA grants include $658,150 for the Adams County Industrial Development Authority to construct an agriculture education center in Straban Township. Carroll Valley Borough will receive $276,000 for improvements to Carroll Commons Park, including ADA-accessible facilities and security upgrades.
Cumberland Township is set to receive $100,000 for security enhancements at its municipal building and police department. Fairfield Municipal Authority will get $200,000 to replace equipment at its wastewater treatment plant in Hamiltonban Township.
Franklin Township Municipal Authority is allocated $250,000 for water distribution system improvements. Littlestown Borough will use a $200,000 grant to update pumps at Meadowview pump station building in Union Township.
Mount Joy Township plans to purchase a new tractor with its $221,437 grant. White Run Regional Municipal Authority is awarded $250,000 for improvements at West Pump Station in Mount Joy due to damage issues.
"Many of the projects funded through the Local Share Account program are critical to our communities and help to defray the cost to taxpayers," said Moul. "It was my pleasure to advocate for this funding."
