A $1 million grant has been allocated to aid in the development of a new emergency services complex for Waynesboro and its neighboring communities. This was confirmed by Representative Paul Schemel, who announced that the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant will be utilized by the borough council members for this purpose.

"Emergency services leaders for years have been asking for an updated, modern and accessible building to serve as a home base for police officers, emergency medical technicians and firefighters. This grant is a foundation to make that complex a reality," stated Schemel.

The proposed center aims to integrate medical offices, enhancing the connection between public health and safety within Waynesboro. RACP grants are designed to support various improvement projects including regional, economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical initiatives. These grants are managed by the Office of the Budget.
