Pennsylvania lawmakers Paul Schemel and Frank Ryan will lead a town hall to discuss the state's tax code, including potential changes to property, sales, and income taxes. The event is scheduled for July 20 at 7 p.m. in the General Studies Building auditorium on Penn State Mont Alto's campus.
Representative Schemel invited Representative Ryan to share insights from his experience as a certified public accountant and author. "I've gotten to know Frank not only through the House but also through his work as vice chairman of the Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System more commonly called PSERS," Schemel stated. He praised Ryan's knowledge of fiscal matters.
Ryan expressed familiarity with southern Franklin County due to his education at Mount St. Mary's University College and welcomed the opportunity to engage in discussions about Pennsylvania's tax structure. "I’m hoping we can have a robust discussion about the tax structure in Pennsylvania," he said.
Attendees should enter Penn State Mont Alto via the main drive and park behind the General Studies Building. Questions about the town hall can be directed to Schemel’s office at 717-749-7384.
