Cost of college went up for all students at Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Mont Alto

In-state tuition and fees rose 0.1 percent for 2018-19 at Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Mont Alto, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Pennsylvania residents paid $13,702 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $8 more than the $13,694 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 59.7 percent more than residents this year, or $21,886. Their price tag grew 2.6 percent from $21,328 in 2017-18.

About 82 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Pennsylvania residents. And about 18 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 94 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 168 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.2 million and 142 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.2 million.

Including all undergraduates (830), 800 students used grants or scholarships totaling $4.6 million, and 488 students took out $3.2 million in federal student loans.
