Sen. Doug Mastriano (R-33) will host a Patriot Day remembrance service on Monday, Sept. 16, at 11:30 a.m. at Soldiers Grove behind the state Capitol.
Mastriano, who serves as chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, is hosting the ceremony to commemorate the lives lost through the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Somerset County, Pennsylvania. The ceremony will include the recitation of the names of the crew and passengers from United Airlines Flight 93 crash in western Pennsylvania.
