State Senator Doug Mastriano | Pennsylvania
Senator Doug Mastriano of Pennsylvania expressed concerns over the increase in unidentified drones flying over several states, including Pennsylvania. In a statement, Mastriano criticized the federal government's response to these occurrences.
“It is inconceivable that the federal government has no answers nor has taken any action to get to the bottom of the unidentified drones," said Mastriano. He further referenced a previous incident involving a Chinese surveillance balloon, stating, "The fecklessness of this administration was on display last year when a Chinese surveillance balloon was allowed to fly over the entire continental United States before being shot down."
Mastriano urged for immediate action, highlighting potential threats posed by these aerial devices. “This should be viewed as a threat to our nation and citizens and action is long overdue," he added. The senator also implied that current federal priorities may not align with addressing these security issues, saying, "We have recourses and assets in our arsenal to get answers, but I suppose Ukraine is more important to the White House.”
Senator Mastriano represents Pennsylvania's 33rd Senatorial District, which includes Adams and Franklin counties. He has served in Iraq during Operation Desert Storm and completed three deployments to Afghanistan.
