The Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, currently housing the state's stockpile of personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare use during the COVID-19 pandemic, has become a topic of concern. Representative Dan Moul (R-Adams) raised issues regarding the suitability of storing such crucial materials in a building susceptible to flooding and vermin. He urged the Wolf administration to relocate the stockpile.

Moul also highlighted that the extensive storage of PPE at the complex is preventing it from hosting agricultural shows and events, its original purpose. This situation affects vendors who rely on leasing space for trade shows that contribute revenue to the Commonwealth.

On May 5, 2021, Moul and several House colleagues met with event organizers and 4-H members worried about potential cancellations of significant events like the All-American Dairy Show scheduled for September 18-22 and the Keystone International Livestock Exhibition set for October 1-10.

"We reiterated our concerns about the presence of the PPE at the Farm Show Complex and urged the Wolf administration to act now to ensure these important agricultural events will occur as scheduled," Moul stated.
