The Wolf administration has acknowledged that some medical supplies stored at the state Farm Show Complex were destroyed, as claimed by state lawmakers earlier this week. On Wednesday, state Representatives Dan Moul, Karen Boback, and Seth Grove were denied access to the complex after refusing to sign a non-disclosure agreement required by the administration.
Following the incident, the representatives held a news conference outside the Farm Show Complex. They disclosed reports indicating that truckloads of medical supplies had been transported to an incinerator and destroyed. Initially, the administration denied these allegations, labeling the lawmakers as "liars and conspiracy theorists." However, under pressure from local media, they admitted that some supplies had indeed been removed and destroyed.
At a Senate hearing on Thursday, Curt Topper, Secretary of the Department of General Services, announced that the administration would no longer require lawmakers to sign a non-disclosure agreement before touring the Farm Show Complex. This requirement had been cited as the reason for canceling Wednesday's tour.
In a joint statement today, Representatives Moul, Boback, and Grove expressed their concerns: “It is troubling that the administration felt the need to lock us out. We think it is long past time to work together to bring Pennsylvania out of this pandemic in an open and transparent manner that people expect.”
