State grants advocated by Representative Rob Kauffman have been approved for projects in Greene and Guilford townships. These initiatives aim to enhance traffic flow and provide new recreational facilities.
Greene Township will receive $1.5 million for an indoor sports complex at the Cumberland Valley Business Park. "The township is invested in providing needed recreational facilities for our region," said Kauffman. He emphasized the transformation of former federal lands into beneficial community spaces, adding, "A new indoor/outdoor sports facility will be a welcome addition to the Chambersburg area."
Chambersburg Waste Paper Co. Inc. has been awarded $1 million for its CPW Construction Waste Recycling Facility in Guilford Township. The funds will support constructing a paved access road from U.S. Route 11 to the facility, improving truck traffic flow to the transfer station and sorting area. It also includes installing permanent truck scales for weighing vehicles entering and exiting the facility. Kauffman stated, "This needed infrastructure will improve operations at the facility, which serves all of southcentral Pennsylvania and beyond."
The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), administered by the Office of the Budget, supports these projects through grants aimed at regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvements.
